A gift for the New Year…

Have you received any credit card bills for the holidays yet? While you’re paying those bills, why not spend some money that you’ll feel good about? It’s obvious why charities don’t make many appeals during this month, which is precisely why someone should. What better time to get your customers’ attention than when no one else is bothering to try?

At the risk of sounding preachy (who, me???), take a moment while paying your bills this month and drop a couple of bucks to the charity of your choice. I’m personally a big fan of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, but feel free to pick one that matters to you. If you don’t know of any, the following links can help you, too. And if you’re tight on cash, maybe you can make a gift of your time. Make it a Happy New Year for folks who need it most.

Finally, feel free to list other worthwhile causes in the comments. What’s the power of social media if we’re not as focused on the social as the media?
