Is your business growing as fast as the Internet (Small Business E-commerce Link Digest – October 22, 2010)

Incredible growth onine imageYou ever run across a stat that makes you sit up and take notice right away? That’s what happened to me today when I saw this chart on the growth of the Internet since 2000. Money quote:

“There were only 361 million Internet users in 2000, in the entire world. For perspective, that’s barely two-thirds of the size of Facebook today.

Emphasis, for a change, from the original. But, oh, so worth it. ‘Cause… wow. That’s crazy. And if that’s not enough, AT&T reported that customers connected to its Wi-Fi network 106.9 million times in the 3rd quarter of 2010. Put another way, that’s over 21 million more connections than were made in all of 2009. AT&T! Again… wow.

Which makes me wonder, how does your business growth compare? Probably not as well. Is it possible you’re leaving opportunities on the table here?
